(that have worked well so far for me)
Do not introduce unnecessary pain, do not seek comfort at the expense of other living beings. Do your best to respect the principle of right livelihood [also known as samma ajiva in Buddhist tradition] - do not work at places that are capitalizing on human weaknesses - there are too many of those already. Threat others with respect, kindness, and humility; seek forgiveness when you inevitably fail to do so. Check what a plant-based diet can do for you and give it an honest shot.
No amount of gains will ever satiate an ever leaning mind, so cultivate happiness with the least amount of resources instead of striving to satisfy yet another want. Do not bury yourself in things, do not keep up with relationships that no longer serve a meaningful purpose. No need for over-engineering things - a project will never fail because the code was not fancy enough.
Even better if you fail. Aim for at least 1-2 things per year that are clearly at or beyond the edge of current abilities. The process of an honest attempt is what puts together months and years of progress.
